PLANT YOUR OWN
HATCHER MANGO TREE

Congratulations!  You have just chosen the VERY BEST!

Choose a sunny location for planting.  There should be at least a 15 foot diameter minimum space for tree so it has room to grow.  Do not mix any potting soil, manure, fertilizer or anything with the soil when you plant.

Take the tree out of the container by laying it on its side and slipping the container off.  Bury the root ball so the soil level is the same as it was in the container.  Leave a mound around the tree to form a basin, then fill with water, washing soil into any empty pockets around the root ball.

Now is the time to fertilize.  Be extra careful because mango trees are very susceptible to burning with excessive fertilizing.  Recommended fertilizer:  12-5-9 (or similar), with manganese, iron and zinc.  SCATTER one level tablespoon per foot of tree height.

WATERING
Do not count on sprinkler systems to do your watering!
For the first month, water every day and soak thoroughly at least twice a week.
Second and third month, water at least twice a week.
Fourth through twelfth month, water weekly ESPECIALLY during dry spells.

FERTILIZING
First two or three years, once a month, SCATTER one level tablespoon of 12-5-9 fertilizer per foot of tree height, EXCEPT in December and January.

For fruiting trees, switch to a 4-4-8 fertilizer that also include trace elements.  We use organic fertilizer here at Hatcher Mango Hill.  Apply only once a year, right AFTER the fruit is off the tree.  SCATTER 1/4 cup of fertilizer per foot of tree height.

A Hatcher mango tree is very fast growing and produces large, delicious mangoes that ripen in July and August!  Trees are for sale during mango season at Hatcher Mango Hill (available for local pickup only -- we cannot ship trees.)  Enjoy!!!
